The Custer County Chamber of Commerce is hosting a candidate forum to give all local voters an opportunity to meet local candidates running for an elected office this political season, and to hear what they have to say regarding a number of issues.
The forum will be held next Tuesday, April 22, beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the multi-purpose room at Custer County School.
Candidates invited to take part in the forum include County Commissioner candidates Allen Butler, Bob Kattnig, and Jack Canterbury; Sheriff candidates Tony Supan, Eric Thompson and Shannon Byerly; and Coroner candidates Art Nordyke and Brad Baltzy.
The format is as follows: a three minute introduction by each candidate; pre-selected questions asked by Chamber moderator; two minute response to each question by each candidate; and three minute closing remarks by each candidate.
The pre-selected questions will come from Chamber members and other local voters who submit them to the Chamber office prior to the forum. No questions will be taken from the audience that night.
To submit a question to the Chamber, e-mail it to email@example.com, mail to P.O. Box 81 in Westcliffe, call the office at 783-9163, or stop by during normal office hours which are Wednesday and Friday 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The office is located at 110 Rosita Ave. inside the All Aboard Westcliffe Interpretive Center.
The Custer County Chamber of Commerce has hosted similar candidate forums with the same format during previous election years.
