|9/19/2013||First forum on EMS issue is next week|
The public is invited to attend a forum at Cliff Lanes next Thursday, Sept. 26 at 6 p.m. to discuss the proposed mill levy increase to fund the local ambulance services.
Joe Arbuckle, chairman of the West Custer County Hospital District, will discuss the current condition of our Emergency Medical Services (EMS), the level of risk our citizens and visitors are experiencing during medical emergencies and what it will take to address the problems that have developed over the past several years.
The Hospital District is seeking a property tax mill levy increase of three mills; county assessor J.D. Henrich said this would roughly equate to a $24 tax hike on a home with an assessed valuation of $100,000.
Arbuckle will present planned solutions and invites public input. Plan to attend. Bring your questions and comments. This is a topic of concern to all of Custer County.
