Churches announce special Holy Thursday, Good Friday, Easter services
He is risen! This Easter season Valley churches hold special services in celebration of the risen Savior.
Sangre de Cristo Mennonite Church is holding a Good Friday service on March 29 at 6 p.m. and Easter Sunday Service on March 31, with fellowship at 8:30 a.m. and worship at 9 a.m.
Today, Holy Thursday, March 28, a one- hour of prayer followed by a Seder dinner takes place beginning at 5 p.m. at Community United Methodist Church. On Easter Sunday, March 31, worship services take place at 8 a.m. and 10 a.m., with an Easter Brunch served at 9 a.m.
First Baptist Church of Westcliffe holds a “Sonrise” service on March 31 at 8 a.m., followed by a fundraising youth pancake breakfast at 9 a.m., Sunday school at 9:30 a.m. and worship services at 10:45 a.m. The Easter Sunday worship services will include a cantata titled “He Rises” and communion.
Westcliffe Community Church invites all to an Easter Morning Service on March 31, which includes the church’s 15th year celebration. The service starts at 10 a.m.
Wild West Cowboy Church begins its Easter celebration with an egg hunt for children on March 31, at 2 p.m., followed by church services at 4 p.m. and potluck dinner immediately following.
St. Patrick’s Anglican Church is holding an Easter Mass at 11 a.m. on March 31.
Hope Lutheran Church holds Easter Services at 7:30 a.m. on March 31, followed by a breakfast in Lange Hall.
St. Luke’s Episcopal Mission is holding a Good Friday service on March 29 at noon and Easter Sunday service on March 31 at 10:30 a.m.
Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church is holding a Mass of The Lord’s Supper today, Thursday, March 28, at 3 p.m., a celebration of Lord’s Passion service on March 29 at 3 p.m., and an Easter Vigil Mass on March 30 at 7:30 p.m. An 11 a.m. Easter Vigil Mass takes place on March 31.

Altar Society bake sale is Saturday
The Altar & Rosary society of Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church is holding its annual Easter Bake Sale.
The bake sale is taking place this Saturday, March 30, from 9 a.m. to noon in the community room adjacent to the library in downtown Westcliffe
Available for purchase will be a variety of baked goods, pies, breads, cookies and more.
Proceeds benefit a number of Altar and Rosary activities including scholarships to graduating high school seniors, church supplies and funeral luncheons.
Easter Egg hunt to be held Saturday at the Feed Store
Gather the kids and head to the Feed Store restaurant for the annual Easter Egg hunt.
The egg hunt, sponsored by the restaurant and Cliffs Action Revitalization Team, is being held this Saturday, March 30, beginning at 10 a.m.
Youth will be divided into age groups for the hunt.
The restaurant is located at 116 North Second Street in Westcliffe. Call 783-2771 for more information.
