CCHS students mark their annual WinterFest celebration
Custer County High Schoolers beat the winter blues this week with WinterFest.
The annual celebration with the theme “Fire and Ice” began Monday and continues through Saturday, Jan. 12.
On Monday, teens jumped out of bed and headed to class in anything but everyday clothes.
Tuesday was tacky tourist day, Wednesday was “blackout” day and today, Thursday, Jan. 10, is blue and gold/throwback day .
Also on Thursday is a pep rally in the east gym from noon to 12:30 pm. All in the community are invited to attend, however, remember to sign in and take a visitors pass at the front office before heading to the gym.
Also on Thursday, the Bobcats varsity and junior varsity girls and boys take on Cotopaxi in basketball at home with games starting at 4:30 p.m.
On Friday, Jan. 11, a wrestling scrimmage gets underway at 4:30 p.m. at home, followed by a tournament beginning at 9 a.m. at home on Saturday, Jan. 12.
The WinterFest dance, complete with a DJ, takes place Saturday from 9 p.m. to midnight.
This year’s WinterFest Royalty are seniors Karly May, Ashton White, Wyatt Wommack and Brendon Ham; and juniors Alissa Spencer, Caitlin Johnson, Brian O’Connor and Casey Nordyke. – Nora Drenner
