And now there are three in the race for the county’s top
money manager spot. Eight-year Westcliffe
resident Julie Trombley has announced she is running
for However, rather than seeking the nomination through
caucus, Trombley will go the petition route. She will begin circulating that petition, seeking at
least 161 signatures from local registered voters, on March 29. Trombley said she has the
background and experience to be county treasurer. “I have owned my own business
in the design field for over 30 years,” said Trombley. She and her husband,
Steve, have also owned and operated a bed and breakfast and gift shop in
Westcliffe. Today, Steve is a deputy with the “I have experience in all aspects of owning and
operating a successful business including accounting and bookkeeping,” said Trombley. She also said high on her priority list is customer
service. “I feel the people of Also running for
county treasurer on the Republican ticket are incumbent Virginia Trujillo and
Larry Luikart. Both hope to get the Republican
nomination through the caucus slated for March 16. If they succeed, their names
will appear on the Republican primary ballot in the August primary election. – |
