There will be plenty of ways to
say “Be Mine” for Valentine’s Day Make your sweetheart feel special this Valentine’s Day
by taking him or her to one or more of the following love-themed events. Happy Hearts Party for Kids Children ages kindergarten through fifth grade are
invited to an afternoon filled with Valentine crafts, stories, music and more. The day of fun will be held Saturday, Feb. 13, from 1:30
to 3 p.m. at Community United Methodist Church Westcliffe. Reservations are encouraged by calling the church at
783-2511 or Sarah Smith at 783-3283. All Aboard Westcliffe
Movie and Dinner A heartfelt evening complete with food, a classic movie
and more will be held at the All Aboard Westcliffe
interpretive center on Saturday, Feb. 13. Dinner with a choice of chili or shrimp corn chowder,
salad, corn bread, dessert and drink will be served from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Cost is
$10. Then, “Comes a Horseman” will
be shown at no charge. Free popcorn will also be distributed and sodas will be
served for $1 each. Filmed in 1978 in Folks who lived in the Valley when the film was made
will be on hand to share tales of its making. Fundraising Valentine Dinner Sangre de Cristo Mennonite Church will host a
fundraising Valentine’s Day dinner on Sunday, Feb. 14. Prime rib or smoked Cornish game hen with cheddar garlic
mashed potatoes, green beans, salad and homemade biscuits will be served at
5:30 p.m. Also included will be a dessert buffet featuring
cheesecake, red velvet cake, black forest cupcakes and a chocolate fountain. Suggested donation is $20-$25 per person with proceeds

Day treat that’s sure to be sweet. Orders are currently being accepted to purchase locally

order. Greeting cards, balloons, candy, stuffed animals and
more can also be purchased on site at Cliff Lanes Dinner and Bowling On Sunday, Feb. 14, Cliff Lanes bowling center will
offer a candlelight dinner for two complete with three games of bowling from 5
p.m. to closing. Cost is $16 per person and reservations are required by
calling 783-2147. Sangrita Sangrita restaurant in
downtown Westcliffe is offering Valentine’s Day specials Saturday and Sunday,
Feb. 13-14. Get dinner for two featuring
prime rib and snow crab with the appropriate sides for $50. Or choose from a number of a la carte items including
Tuscan ribeye, stuffed salmon, and prime rib with
coconut shrimp. Reservations are recommended by calling 783-4054. Historic Alpine Lodge On Friday and Saturday, Feb. 12-13, enjoy a seven-course
meal served from 5 to 9 p.m. at the historic Alpine Lodge. Cost is $28.95 per

sauce or grilled tuna with wasabi, ginger root and fresh basil mayonnaise. Both
come with eggplant or zucchini. The dinner special is prime rib with garlic mashed
