To help give peace and joy to all this Christmas season,
many local churches are holding special services. St. Luke’s Episcopal Church will hold a Taize service and a Blue Christmas service this Saturday,
Dec. 19. The Taize service will begin at 5 p.m. with
the Blue Christmas service beginning at 6 p.m. The Taize will feature song
and meditation. The Blue Christmas service will include scripture reading,
singing and lighting candles in remembrance of lost ones. “This is a place you
can come with your sorrow in this season of light; to express it and leave it
at the altar,” said Rev. Kathy Boeschenstein. On Christmas Eve, St. Luke’s will host a service at 3
p.m. and midnight mass beginning at 11 p.m. Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church is hosting a
number of special masses this Christmas season. On Sunday, Dec. 20, which is the fourth Sunday of
Advent, mass will take place at 11 a.m. On Christmas Eve, mass will be held at
7 p.m. On Dec. 25, mass takes place at 11 a.m. On
Sunday, Dec. 27, which is the Feast of the Holy Family, mass will be held at 11
a.m. On Thursday, Dec. 31, which is
Solemnity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, mass takes place at 5:30 p.m. On Jan. 3, which is the Epiphany of the Lord, mass is
