Make plans to celebrate the red, white and blue Valley style.

The annual Fourth of July celebration gets underway Friday, July 3, with a fundraising yard sale at All Aboard Westcliffe interpretive center. The yard sale will continue July 4. The time has not been announced.

Also beginning July 3 is a quilt show and sale at the former Jennings Market in downtown Westcliffe. The show and sale will continue July 4–5.

A pancake breakfast sponsored by All Aboard Westcliffe interpretive center will take place at the red caboose on the west end of Main Street beginning at 7 a.m. July 4.

A craft and flea market will take place July 4-5, beginning at 8:30 a.m. in the event center on the west end of Main Street in downtown Westcliffe.

The annual Independence Day parade through downtown Westcliffe begins at 10 a.m. July 4.

Also being held throughout the day on July 4 is a classic and antique car show along Main Street in downtown Westcliffe.

A fundraising ice cream social will take place July 4, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the historic “Westcliff” schoolhouse and museum.

As usual, fireworks over Lake DeWeese will get underway at dusk, which is around 9 p.m. Plan to arrive early for the best seat.

A benefit dance for the Wet Mountain Fire Protection District will be held at the main fire house on Fourth Street in Westcliffe July 4. The time has not been announced.
