Some 1,200 people gathered at A Painted View Ranch on Friday for the Tracy Byrd concert and NCHA Days.

Brad Johnson, Director of Operations at A Painted View Ranch, said of concert and NCHA Days, “a good time was had by all and, that he was proud of our town and community.”

Among the crowd were Glenn and Edna Coonrod of Greenwood, Mo. who were all smiles and excitement for the concert as well as their 45th wedding anniversary.

Glenn stated that Byrd usually dedicates his well-known song “Keeper of the Stars” to him and Edna for their anniversary.

Other songs performed by the country star were his hits “I’m from the Country,” “Watermelon Crawl,” “Drinkin’ Bone,” and a couple new songs from Byrd’s new album, “Different Things.”

Glenn said that he and Edna have attended seven Byrd concerts on the day of their anniversary and that they have been to well over 30 Byrd concerts total.

After nearly not being able to make it to this concert, the couple was given tickets by Donna Hood, owner of A Painted View.

Their tickets included the meet and greet with Byrd, front row table seating and a cowboy steak dinner catered by the local FFA.

Along with the concert this weekend, A Painted View hosted NCHA Days where interested persons could take cutting lessons with Mark Miller and compete.

Glenn stated that they drove 752 miles from their home in Missouri to come to the concert in Westcliffe and they were very grateful that Hood made it possible.
